Together, the IRC and Chase Will Help Restaurants and Bars Rebuild
The application window is now closed, the deadline was October 3, 2025.
When disaster strikes, independent restaurants and bars support first responders, feed the hungry, provide relief to those in need, and support other businesses in the communities they serve. But when these same businesses are the ones in crisis, who comes to the rescue?
Restaurants are at the very heart of our communities nationwide, but too often they are left without the support they need. The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) estimates 40% of small businesses impacted by natural disasters never reopen. Another 25% close within a year. There are very few programs designed to help restaurants get back on their feet, until now.
Launching September 3rd, the IRC and Chase Disaster Relief Fund aims to provide independent restaurant and bar owners with essential financial relief so they can address immediate needs to stay in business, including property damage, temporary operating expenses, lost inventory, and more. Restaurants interested in applying must complete an eligibility screening to confirm they meet basic requirements, including:
- Being independently owned
- Operating no more than 20 locations nationwide
- Having sustained direct disaster-related damage within the past 12 months.
Businesses affiliated with national chains, franchises, or publicly traded companies are not eligible to apply. Please review the Terms & Conditions before applying. We also suggest you check out this webinar, or download the Program Guide complete with application questions before applying.
If your business has been impacted by disaster, we’re here for you—because you’ve always been there for us.
We know this isn’t easy. Rebuilding after disaster rarely is. And asking for help can be even harder—especially for the people who are always first to offer it. Being independent shouldn’t mean being alone - especially not in crisis.
